Beta status
FactNot, operated by Factnot LLC, is an English-language, global open beta for people who are at least 18. The service is still changing and should not be treated as a finished, paid, or guaranteed product.
- Adults can create an account with an email address they control; signup may be paused temporarily for safety, abuse prevention, or maintenance.
- Features, data models, limits, credits, background jobs, AI providers, search behavior, and UI flows may change without advance notice.
- Premium and billing are disabled unless FactNot presents an explicit checkout, signed order, or written commercial agreement.
Friends beta limits
Friends beta is for early product feedback on non-critical research, notes, citations, and knowledge workflows. It is not intended for high-stakes or irreplaceable work.
- Avoid legal, medical, financial, employment, compliance, regulated, emergency, or similarly high-impact workflows during friends beta.
- Do not use FactNot as the only copy of important records, source files, PDFs, notes, or workspace material.
- If you are unsure whether material is sensitive, confidential, regulated, copyrighted, or hard to replace, keep an independent copy and avoid AI features until you are comfortable with the provider path.
AI accuracy disclaimer
FactNot may use AI systems to extract, summarize, classify, verify, rank, and draft information. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, outdated, duplicated, unsupported, or misleading.
- Do not rely on FactNot as a sole source of truth.
- Check important claims against primary sources before acting on them, publishing them, or sharing them.
- Confidence labels, verification status, citations, and AI explanations are review aids, not guarantees.
Private uploads and sharing
Users may upload or save sensitive, private, copyrighted, or work-related material only if they have the rights and authority to do so. Uploading content to FactNot does not make it public by default, but uploaded or saved material may be processed by infrastructure, storage, email, security, and AI providers when users use features that require that processing.
- Do not make content public unless you are comfortable with other people seeing it and you have the right to share it.
- Source bodies, PDFs, images, transcripts, and article text may have different rights than a citation or link.
- If content is confidential, copyrighted, regulated, or personally sensitive, keep it private and review permissions before using AI, exports, links, embeds, API, or MCP access.
Support expectations
Beta support is founder-led and best-effort. Bugs in feed polling, uploads, verification, chat, search, and background jobs may happen and should be reported through Settings or by email.

- For privacy requests, use /privacy/request or contact privacy@factnot.com.

Operational risk
FactNot runs on fault-tolerant application infrastructure, but application fault tolerance does not replace database backups, blob backups, restore drills, monitoring, incident response, or rollback plans.
- Production restore drills are recorded before broad beta expansion; users should still keep their own copy of irreplaceable data.
- Rate limits and authenticated metrics are in place, but beta availability is not guaranteed.
- If an incident requires it, FactNot may disable signups, pause workers, roll back a deploy, restrict uploads, or temporarily limit access.
